Don Bosco Green Alliance

Australia - Pacific Province

What is the Green Alliance?

The Don Bosco Green Alliance is the coming together of young people from the Salesian Family worldwide to contribute to cleaner future through global action, thought and policymaking.

The Don Bosco Green Alliance seeks to create an environment that is safe and caring for all forms of life on the planet. It advocates for long-term change, seeking to build generations of environmentally committed citizens and leaders.

It is heavily inspired by Catholic Social Teaching and Laudato Si, discerning its mission in the world today by listening to the cry of the poor and the cry of the Earth. It acknowledges that environmental justice cannot occur without all other forms of justice and that worst effects of environmental destruction always impact those who are already on the outer edges of society first.

Membership is open to any Salesian family institutions, organizations or individuals, offering a platform for the collective exchange of resources, ideas and sharing of information.

The following works of the Australia-Pacific Province are members of the Don Bosco Green Alliance, and have committed to furthering the cause of ecological progress. Each organization makes a commitment influenced by the situation and space it occupies, delivering change either through direct action, influencing thought, or impacting upon policymaking.
